- We have more leaked specifications for the Sony WF-1000XM6
- These headphones will be released on February 12.
- It looks like some notable updates are on the way
Sony has officially confirmed that its “next generation of headphones” will be launching this Thursday, February 12, which will almost certainly be the Sony WF-1000XM6, and ahead of the official unveiling, a full list of specifications has been leaked online.
The specs list comes courtesy of Dealabs (via Notebookcheck) and it looks like the update will be quite substantial. Apparently, the QN3e processor will be in the lead, three times faster than the Sony WF-1000XM5.
There will be eight adaptive microphones on both earbuds instead of six, which should mean better noise cancellation and more clarity for any voice and video calls you make with these wireless earbuds.
There are more updates too – the speaker, DAC and amplifier have all been updated, which combined should mean a pretty substantial jump in terms of the sound experience you can expect with these in your ears.
Battery life and design.
Look
According to the specs list, you can expect eight hours of battery life between charges, and the case will add another 16 hours. Altogether, that’s a full 24 hours of listening before you have to search for a power source again.
Of course, this is far from the first leak we’ve seen about the Sony WF-1000XM6 wireless headphones. The price is rumored to be $329.99 in the US, up from the $299.99 / £259 / AU$499 price of the Sony WF-1000XM5 headphones when they appeared in 2023.
Several other leaks have suggested that the launch is imminent and it looks like the aesthetics will be updated too – we’re expecting a redesigned shape to improve airflow and comfort, with the addition of insulated pads.
Check out our Sony WF-1000XM5 review and you’ll see that we were very impressed with what the current flagship headphones have to offer, and in just a few days we’ll be able to see how much better the 2026 headphones are.
