- Another Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Benchmark has appeared
- Suggests performance with the Ultra galaxy s25
- The phone is likely to be launched at some point in April
Super thin phones are excellent from an aesthetic point of view, but the shrinking factor can lead to performance limitations, so it is reassuring to see a new reference escape Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge that suggests that it will a day with the rest of the series.
According to the reference point (through Sammobile), the Galaxy S25 Edge seems to be ready to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 elite of 8 cores inside. That is the variant established in a higher clock speed that we have seen on other Samsung devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S25.
In addition, the score of a single nucleus of 2,969 and the score of multiple nuclei of 9,486 suggest that the performance will be on par with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the phone that we describe as “the definitive Android” in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Review.
Here are some warnings: this could be a Galaxy S25 EDGE that executes an unfinished software, for example. But it is good to see these first results pointing in the right address, before the expected telephone launch in April.
Stay fresh
The chipset installed within a telephone does not always tell the complete story of its performance potential: to prevent the chipset from overheating and block the phone, it will be accompanied by several safety measures and cooling characteristics.
How effective is that cooling, and therefore, how fast the chipset can be executed, it depends on multiple factors, but in general terms, the more space it is available, the better the cooling will be (so the desktop PCs can be much more powerful than laptops).
While it is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S25 EDGE has only 5.84 mm thick, from front to back, it is also expected to be higher and wider than the standard galaxy S25. That could mean that Samsung can fit in a more advanced cooling system.
Everything must be revealed in the coming weeks, when Samsung presents the phone in its entirety, after giving us brief glimpses of how it looks. Apple seems very likely to continue with its own super thin phone later in the year, the iPhone 17 Air.
