We are great fans of Modular Framework portable computers, which allow you to choose the components you want, replace or update parts, and even add personalized third -party modules, such as this drone destructive.
It is almost a surprise that other important portable computer manufacturers have not followed a similar path, but HP seems to have relieved this approach to its new elitebook, presented today at Amplify 2025.
The elitebook 8 G1 ready for companies, with an AMD or Intel processor, is designed to be easily repaired or updated, with HP saying that the battery, fans, SSD storage and sodimm memory can be changed in less than 10 minutes, and wireless lan cards and mobile broadband are also completely accessible and quickly replaced rapidly. If that is not enough, the modular keyboard can also be removed and changed, and the autoalineating screen does not require single -use templates for replacement.
Redesigned inside and out
HP says that the new elitebook 8 G1 has been “redesigned inside and out”, offering up to 224% better energy efficiency. The PCs of the 8 G1 series are also performed using a wide range of recycled materials, including glass, kitchen oil, rare earth magnets, magnesium, aluminum and oceanic plastic.
There is an option between next -generation AI PCs (with 40–60 NPUS tops) and regular the PCs (with less than 40 NPUS tops). They come in G1A (AMD) or G1I (Intel) models, available in 13 -inch sizes (with 14 -inch and 16 inches.
Everyone has a Wuxga (1920×1200) screen, a thin-redested thin chassis, a new glacier silver color, a larger trackpad, a digital fingerprint reader on the ignition button, Dual Ports Thunderbolt 4, USB-C and USB-A options, HDMI 2.1 and support for Wi-Fi 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6E 6 NFC and smartcard. They support up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of SSD storage.
There is still no word about prices or availability for new models, but we should know it soon.
