- United Airlines is implementing a small key update that could help you make your connection
- Connectionsover will now give you turning by return to make your connection flight in the United centers
- It will also show relevant information in real time in the application.
Let’s be realistic, having to take a connection flight is not the easiest, especially if the time between its first flight and the second goes crazy as a result of a delay. It can be a very high moment, but now United Airlines is trying to do it a little less stressful.
We have already seen United adopt live activities on the iPhone so that it is easy to see the key information without opening the application, and the airline has mapped many airports for easy navigation, as well as implementing some surprisingly useful features.
So now on time for the maximum summer travel season, United is updating its Connectionsover technology for those who connect within one of its centers: Newark, NJ, Chicago, Il, Denver, Co, Houston, Tx, Los Angeles, Ca, San Francisco, Ca, Washington, DC or Guam, for the effect that you will see the state of flight of real, and a prominent war Connections is activated.
With this, using the AI and United equipment, they can keep the flight at the door for a little more time, and provide a countdown clock, without delaying the arrival to help you make the flight.
However, even better, United will also inform your equipment in flight if that is the case and will also provide turn -to -turn navigation instructions. In this way, he does not have to pull the aircraft and run away from the door, without knowing if he needs to go to the left or the right. In a previously shared video seen by Techradar, the application will provide turn -of -turn instructions and even inform you if you need to take a mechanical staircase to a tunnel or get on a tram to reach the door.
Speaking to Techradar, United customer director, David Kinzelman, told us that they have mapped all their facilities and “we feel really good with the maps we have and the times and distances” to provide real navigation in real time.
I am particularly excited about real -time navigation combined with Connectionsover, as if I am lucky to stop at a center with the first flight that is late, these two features together could help you make the connection. That must be tested, of course, and must be saved with ‘Connectionsover’. If the latter does not arrive, or if it reaches the door too late, you can also reserve through the United Airlines application and access customer service from there.
This update is being implemented now, and Connectionsover has already been live. If you are interested in testing it or at least accessing turn to turn, be sure to update the United Airlines application on your iPhone or Android device.
And if you are a fan of live activity on the iPhone, Kinzelman told us that they are exploring the integration of this update in that experience and that “at some point we will link both.”
The other great technological tendency for United Airlines so far in 2025 has been the beginning of its Wi-Fi deployment driven by Starlink for door connectivity free of charge for members of its Millageplus rewards program. It is already in several regional aircraft by United Express, and the airline says that it will be throughout the fleet by the end of the year, with the process of installing it in its largest main airplanes to begin at the end of the year.
