Abbas Khan Aphridi of PML-N passes after gas explosion lesions

The former minister and senator of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Abbas Khan Afridi, died after suffering serious lesions for burns in an explosion of gas leaks in his residence in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Azeem Bagh area, Kohat’s Kohat district, PTV reported.

The incident took place on Thursday, and Afridi, along with three others, initially moved to CMH Kohat.

Due to the seriousness of his wounds, he was then transferred to the Kharian burns center to receive additional treatment. Despite the efforts to save him, Afridi succumbed to his wounds.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep sadness for the loss of Aphridi, offering sentences for the high ranges of the deceased in the behaltern and by force of his family during this difficult time, according to a report from the Pakistan state associated press.

The president of the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, also extended the condolences, recognizing the important contributions of the deceased senator to the nation.

The Federal Division of Minister of Power, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, shared his pain, remembering Aphridi’s commitment to serve people. Leghari described Aphridi as a dedicated figure that worked tirelessly for public and national affairs, Radio Pakistan state.

Abbas Khan Afridi was the brother of former MPA PPP Amjad Afridi and son of former Senator Shamim Khan Afridi.

Family sources have confirmed that the funeral prayers for the deceased senator will be made in Babri Banda, Kohat, with details that will be announced later.
