If Abdul Carter’s jersey numbers selections were an average batting, he would be in the Hall of Fame.
At least now you can build a curriculum of the Hall of Fame in a number that could fall into the tradition of New York giants.
After closing the 56th position of Lawrence Taylor and the number 11 of Phil Simms, Carter, the third general selection of the Draft, has been established in No. 51.

The giants announced that Carter will use the number for the rookie mini -family (Jaxson Dart received No. 6, and CAM Skattebo No. 44), but the numbers are subject to changes.
Carter asked Taylor, perhaps the best giant and defensive player in history, if he could use his No. 56, which was removed by the giants in 1994. He was a non -difficult LT himself.
Later, Simms said He would allow Carter To use his number 11, which was removed by the giants in 1995. Carter carried the number throughout his career in Penn State, an honor badge at school. A player is given that the university, and the last representative, feels worthy. The previous Nittany Lion who used it before Carter was Micah Parsons, who now uses it with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, that request was closed by Simms’s family after a long and burning debate among household members.
Upon listening to the news, Carter joined That he “would be there alone with my last name in my shirt, without number.” But, he will be in mini -championship with a number that has probably never been considered retired.

The number 51 was used last season by the Edge corridor Azeez Ojulari, who is now with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was first seen in a giant in 1946 by Chet Gladchuk.
The most notable giant in using the number is Zak Deossie, a twice champion of the Super Bowl Long Snapper that took it from 2004 to 2017.
Last season, the team did not withdraw Ray Flaherty number 1 for the open receiver Malik Nabers, which was number 9 throughout the university. Flaherty number retirement was the first in the history of professional football. Flaherty’s family gave the giants permission to discourage the number of Nabers, who used it well. Nabers, as a rookie, established the franchise record for most receptions in a season, with 109.

The G-Men have 13 retired numbers for 14 players. (No. 14 is for Ward Punf and already Tittle.) Warren Moon recently granted Cam Ward’s permission to use No. 1 with the Tennessee Titans.
