‘Accidents cause more death than terrorism’

Islamabad:

A member of a Constitutional Bank (CB) of the Supreme Court observed on Friday that more people die in the country in traffic accidents that due to terrorism or disease.

“Does the government have any statistics regarding the people who perished in accidents?” Judge Jamal Khan Commandkhail asked while listening to a petition filed against traffic accidents caused by heavy and overloaded vehicles.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the petitioner, Barriquer Zafarullah, argued that the real problem lies in the places where vehicles are overloaded. “Without taking measures against these charging points, the problem cannot be controlled,” he said.
