- Apparently, Garmin is working on a WHOOP -style recovery tracker
- The band will launch ‘within two months’ according to The5krunner filtration site
- Details include vibration alarms, LED battery duration indicators and touch gestures, just like Whoop
Yes, it is rumored before, but it seems that we could see a very different physical conditioning tracking style in a couple of months.
Garmin has been constantly known for his smart watches, so we have a dedicated list of the best Garmin watches, after all, but the company is ready to debut a tracker without whoop style “in two months”, according to the site of Leak The5krunner.
Apparently, after having seen a confidential source document, the 5krunner refers to it as a “sleep band” declared to provide comfort during use. This is a good option, since Garmin’s thick watches are often not ideal for use during sleep. A buckle mechanism and an adjustable superimposable belt make it similar to Whoop.
Comparisons do not stop there. The features listed include vibration alarm that awakens the user, touch gestures to turn off or sleep the alarm, and an LED battery indicator, all emblematic Whoop.
Sleep tracking is a fact, taking into account that it is said that the device packs a smart-wake alarm. Smart-Wake Alarms, a characteristic recently introduced in the Garmin Vivoactive 6, only works if the laptop is actively tracking the sleep stages through heart rate and other metrics.
Whoop has some competition
A long time ago, based on the findings of my colleague Lance Ulanoff during CES 2023, I predict that smart watches without screen would be the future of physical aptitude.
While that has not strictly demonstrated until now, 2025 has seen a new fitness technology of optical heart rate without whoop screen, choirs and now (apparently) Garmin, not to mention the advent of the best smart rings.
Fitness monitoring is discreet, focusing on the general holistic benefits of an active lifestyle instead of specifically tracking training.
While the best operational watches will always have a place, I think that an optical competitor based on the bracelet of a company like Garmin, with a huge built -in infrastructure for sleeping, health and training, could be a true winner.
