Two men accused of kidnapping and killing a seven -year -old boy in Landhi confessed the crime against a judicial magistrate on Friday. Subsequently, the court sent both suspects to jail.
Police produced the suspects, Ahsan and Sohail Qureshi, before the judicial magistrate for the east district after the expiration of their physical prison. His confessional statements were recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in which they admitted to kidnapping, assaulting and killing the child before throwing his body in a sack.
In his statement, Ahsan said he had “diverted” and murdered the child for fear of being exposed after the assault. He admitted hitting the victim with a concrete block, strangling him when he was still alive, and then hitting him again until he succumbed. Qureshi also confessed his participation in crime.
According to the police, the child’s body was recovered from Landhi on September 18, the same day that a kidnapping case had been presented at the Landhi Police Station.
Outside the courtroom, the lawyer’s lawyer, Jahangir Kalhoro, told the media that a greater investigation was necessary to take other suspects before justice. The victim’s family also claimed that Qureshi’s wife and son -in -law were accomplices, claiming that it was the son -in -law who had informed Chhipa’s ambulance service about the body’s location. They demanded their immediate arrest, warning that such atrocious crimes would persist if all the culprits were not responsible.
