Abbottabad:
After the demolition of a building next to the Harno River despite the order of the State issued by the Court, the additional district judge has summoned the Deputy Commissioner of DPO, the Irrigation Director, the General Director of the GDA and the income personnel, including the assistant commissioner and other relevant authorities, who appeared before him on July 16, 2025, for not complying.
According to the details of the case, the administration of Abbottabad had launched an anti-commentary campaign against the constructions near the river in Harno after the tragic incident in which an 18 group fell into the river during a sudden flood on Swat.
A private building on the river was owned by Abid Ali, a Pakistani abroad, who had obtained a restriction order and completed the necessary legal documents. However, the Administration proceeded with the demolition of the Ali building, after which it presented a case against it.
The additional session judge has summoned the attached commissioner Abbottabad, Captain (Retd) Sanoullah Khan, Abbottabad Dpo Omar Tafail, TMO Mian Shafique, General Director of the GDA and other relevant authorities to appear before the court on July 16, 2025.
The appellants also submitted an application for contempt to the Court against the accused for breach of the judicial orders, after which the court has suspended the operation.
The court will review the case and determine the next course of action. The result of the case may have significant implications for the administration approach to demolitions.
Meanwhile, Abid Ali has also filed a complaint with the foundation of Pakistan abroad.
