The president of the Mohajir Qaumi movement (MQM-H), AFAQ Ahmed, alleged on Saturday that a motorcycle was deliberately placed under a more Dumper truck in the UP Mor area to film a video and create the impression of ethnic violence in the city.

Speaking at a press conference, Ahmed said that the incident was orchestrated and that the people who set fire were not arrested, while several innocent citizens and the party workers were arrested.

He said that the incident was used to sabotage the growing public support for his position, which he believes has led to an informal alliance between the Muttahida Qaumi (MQM) movement and the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP). “Efforts are being made to give an ethnic color to our movement,” he added.

Ahmed declared that his party had requested a peaceful protest that involves all communities affected by problems in Karachi, including high traffic volumes, bad access to education and an alleged systemic discrimination in public sector work.

“The Dumpers do not identify people by ethnicity,” he said, urging the authorities to take measures against the so -called ‘Dumper Mafia’. He affirmed that no arrests of those responsible for burning the vehicles.

He also criticized the application of section 144 in Central District, qualifying it as a reaction to the successful MQM-H mobilization efforts. Ahmed declared that other parties political workers could meet without restrictions, but MQM-H’s protests were being treated as a threat.

Going to the government and the application of the law, Ahmed said that his party was not looking for confrontation and had urged supporters to bring white flags as a symbol of peace. “We only wanted the government to realize our complaints,” he said.

Ahmed also accused MQM of avoiding criticism of PPP governance and questioned why his workers faced legal actions for protest planning, while no measures were taken against similar statements made by the leadership of MQM.

He reiterated that his party did not promote ethnic division and said that recent events were being manipulated to portray MQM-H as a disruptive force. He demanded that those involved in the staging of the UP Mor incident were arrested and taken before justice.

Ahmed concluded by saying that his party would continue to advocate for Karachi’s rights and requested a stronger organizational presence in Central District.

The controversy surrounding the UP Mor incident began after a high -speed dumper crashed with multiple motorcyclists near the Northern Karachi Energy House, wounding three people.

As a video of the incident went viral, angry residents took to the streets in protest. Veerales heavy vehicles, including five dumpers, a water tank truck and a truck caught fire in different places in the city.
