Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the Afghan Taliban regime is sheltering militants in the state infrastructure and said Pakistan was fighting a war against terrorism imposed on it.

“The Afghan Taliban regime has hidden terrorists in government buildings,” he said while speaking in Geographic news Capital Talk program.

The ISPR chief said the Afghan Taliban regime has maintained links with terrorist groups, including a son of Osama bin Laden.

“The Afghan Taliban regime is a terrorist organization that has taken control of the country, and that is what the United Nations also says. They are in contact with their [Osama bin Laden] son Hamza and I have asked him to come to Afghanistan.”

Osama bin Laden was killed in a US raid on Abbottabad on May 2 by Navy SEALs. The United States accused the al Qaeda chief of carrying out the 9/11 attacks in New York that killed more than 3,000 people in 2001.

The DG ISPR added that Pakistan was waging a war against terrorism imposed on it. “Pakistan is fighting a war against terrorism, and this war has been imposed on us by terrorists and their handlers,” he said, adding that the militant groups were sponsored and financed by India.

The ISPR chief dismissed the Afghan regime’s claims of civilian casualties in recent Pakistani attacks, saying the Kabul attack targeted ammunition and a drone depot.

He revealed that recently the Afghan regime used Indian drones against Pakistan.
