- Silicon Motion 128TB SSD RDK Optimizes AI pipes with improved data management
- Performance technology increases the efficiency of SSD for the workloads driven by AI
- Montitan SSD Gen 5 PCIe 5 speeds improve business data performance
Silicon Motion, a leader Nand Flash controller designer, has begun to supply its 128 TB SSD reference design kit (RDK), to select partners after almost three years of testing since its initial announcement in 2022.
This great SSD kit, uses the last DIV NAND of 2 TB, is based on the Montitan Pcie Gen 5 platform and presents an advanced firmware to maximize performance and efficiency in AI tools workloads, which makes it one of the best external SSD designs available.
The Montitan RDK, designed for the use of the company and the data center, offers sequential reading speeds that exceed 14 GB/s, classifying among the fastest external SSDs, with a random reading performance of more than 3.3 million IAP for a total of efficient data. The kit uses the SM8366 Business Degree controller PCIE Dual Ported with support for the specifications of the PCIE GEN 5 X4 NVME 2.0 and OCP 2.5 data center.
High speed storage that could shake the business market
High speed performance of the RDK provides a 25% improvement in random reading efficiency on other gene solutions, which makes it particularly suitable for AI applications such as the large language model (LLM) and the calculations of the graphic neuronal network (GNN).
In addition, the design of the unit uses NVME 2.0 FDP (placing flexible data) to improve the efficiency and resistance of writing, extending the useful life of the NAND QLC.
“Montitan SSD RDK of Silicon Motion offers a comprehensive solution for our clients, which allows them to quickly develop and implement business class SSD adapted for the AI data center and border server applications.” Alex Chou said senior vice president of the Storage Interface and Screen Interface solutions.
“By providing this fully integrated platform that admits up to 128 TB SSD with QLC NAND, we train our clients and solution partners to accelerate the development and commercialization of the growing demands of AI Solution for high capacity and high performance storage.”
Silicon Motion patented performance technology optimizes SSD performance based on user -defined service (QOs) parameters, reducing latency. The new RDK could play a crucial role in data storage infrastructure and data data, optimizing multiple tenant environments by handling stages of AI data pipes such as ingestion, preparation, training and inference.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Silicon Motion in the development of our latest business SSD for AI servers and data centers. With the SSD Development Platform of Montitan Enterprise SSD of Silicon Motion, we have the flexibility of designing business SSDs that deliver a leading performance in the industry,” said CC WU, VP of Innodisk.
Frank Chen, the Exascend CEO, said: “In the era of the explosion of AI, data storage is more critical than ever. Through this collaboration with Silicon Motion, we have developed an SSD PCIE Gen 5 adapted for AI servers, ensuring stable reading and writing speeds with efficient data management, perfectly fulfilling the storage demands of the age Ia “.
