Dyson is very, very good to move the air. While the company made its name in the vacuum cleaners, it is now almost known for its air appliances: it is some of the best fans and the best air purifiers, sometimes in a device. In fact, some can also heat or humidify the air, as necessary.
Dyson Aircare products are instantly recognizable, and most of them look elegant and space age that seems to magicate the wind out of nowhere. The disadvantage of such a established aspect is that it can be very difficult to notice the difference between the various models in the range. With a wide selection of options available, it may be difficult to discover exactly what product is what and what is to buy.
We have gathered this guide to help you notice the difference between the various options, so you can choose the right one for your needs.
General description table
This table provides a very basic description of the complete Dyson Aircare range. Click on the links in the ‘Price List’ column to jump to the Dyson products list in each territory. If the currency you are looking for is not on the list, it is worth making a quick Google, because the product can still be available to buy through a third -party retailer in that territory.
I mainly want a fan
Excellent! Most Aircare de Dyson’s appliances function as fans, so you have many options to choose from.
Yes you fair I want a fan, you need the Dyson Cool AM07. Because it only has one function, it is the cheapest option throughout the line. You can discover what we think of our Dyson Cool AM07 review.
If it suffers from seasonal allergies, you may want to consider a fans purifier combo. Its main options here are the TP models, which have names that begin with ‘Cool Purifier’. The cheapest and basic option here is the Cool TP10 purifier, and the most advanced is the cold formaldehyde purifier TP09. Note that adding formaldehyde relief capabilities to any Dyson product increases the price considerably.
You may need a fan because your home is not especially well isolated, and experiences large temperature changes between the seasons. In that case, you can consider a combination of fan birds. This option has the additional benefit of saying that the device not only collects dust in the summer months. The only option here is Hot+Cool Jet Focus AM09. We tried it, and you can see how we get in our Dyson Am09 Hot + Cool review.
Finally, you could go to the entire pig and opt for a fans fan head. For this, you want the HP range, with names that begin ‘hot+cool purifier’. The options vary according to the country, but one that is available everywhere is the Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 purifier.
I mainly want an air purifier
Excellent! Dyson has many air purifier options. This technology goes hand in hand with what the brand needs for its vacuum cleaners, so it knows what it is doing when it comes to capturing particles.
If you only want air purification, see the formaldehyde models Big+silence of the purifier. There are two slightly different versions: BP04 and BP03, of which 04 is slightly higher. These are bulky and expensive, and are designed to address large areas (up to 100 m²) in silence. Purification capabilities are the best you will find anywhere, stretching to include nasties that most air purifiers cannot handle, such as NO2 and formaldehyde. You can read our thoughts about this range in our Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde review.
If you only want a purifier for your bedroom or living room, and you would prefer something smaller and cheaper, we would suggest a purifier. Look in the TP range, with products that start ‘cool purifier’.
The most affordable and simple model is the first generation purifier Cool TP10. It still has excellent purification capabilities, but it cannot handle everything the great+silent options can. Alternatively, opt for the cold formaldehyde purifier TP09, which is more advanced.
Finally, I could opt for a triple action model. The Purifier-Haater-Fan options have names that begin ‘Hot+Cool Purifier’ and the codes that begin HP, and the most widely available option is Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 purifier. Alternatively, there are a couple of options that exchange humidification heating: in the US.
I mainly want a heater
There are no independent heater options in the Dyson range, but it is included as a bonus function with several of the brand’s appliances.
The simplest and most affordable model is Dyson Hot+Cool Jet Focus Am09, which functions as a fan or as a heater, depending on their needs. Otherwise, you must opt for a ‘Hot+Cool Purifier’ of three in one with a code name that starts HP. All this can heat, cool or purify the air. The most widely available is Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 purifier. We have tried the HP09, and you can read about how we achieve it in our Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09 review.
I mainly want a humidifier
Dyson is not really so focused on humidifiers, but again, it is included as an additional function in some combined humidifiers-and-purifier models. However, you are very limited in the choice. In the United States, you have the humidify+Cool PH03 purifier, and in the United Kingdom, it is the Purifier Humidify+Cool Formaldehyde Ph04.
