Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat has been reappointed CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), according to a notification issued by the Pakistani government. Hayat will act as interim CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
The decision comes after the PIA board of directors recommended his appointment. Prior to this, Khurram Mushtaq had taken over the responsibilities as interim CEO of PIA.
In a related development, Khurram Mushtaq has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of PIA, while Inamullah Qureshi will take on the role of head of training and development. Qureshi had previously served as interim chief executive of the national airline.
The restructuring is part of a broader management review of PIA aimed at strengthening its operations and performance.
