AJ McLean has kept something personal in memory of Liam Payne.
In a recent conversation with People at the premiere of Building the bandhe Backstreet Boys The member has saved a recording of his final conversation with the deceased One Direction alum
“I have not eliminated it. I have kept it on my phone as a constant reminder of who I was. He was a very positive and edifying person,” said McLean, who served as host in the Netflix show, told The Outlet.
McLean went on to talk about Payne’s ingenious nature: “I had a very fast ingenuity about him. I don’t know if it was British humor or simply he as a person. I think that was one of the things with which he and I really geerate immediately. We were both sarcastic and funny and funny, and always making jokes and pranks and only fun with everyone in the set.”
It is pertinent to mention that Payne plays a guest judge in the music program along with Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger. His scenes were filmed before his death in the summer of 2024.
“But also as an artist, it was extremely talented. Not only as a singer-disappointment, but as a producer of composers, and really illuminated the room when he walked on the set,” McLean added.
Building the band He marked his beginning by paying a moving tribute to Payne, who died prematurely at 31 after falling from a balcony of a multi -story building in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
