MUZAFFARABAD:
While welcoming US Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden’s remarks on restoring the rights of Kashmiris, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan said Biden’s remarks are proof that the world community has refused to accept the Indian narrative on the occupied territories. Cashmere.
Biden has called on New Delhi to take all necessary measures to restore the rights of all Kashmiri people and said that restrictions on dissent, such as preventing peaceful protests or shutting down or slowing down the internet, weaken democracy.
The former US vice president also expressed his disappointment over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in different states of India.
“We welcome the comments of the leader of the Democratic Party of the United States and urge Indian-Americans and Muslim-Americans to together applaud Joe Biden’s political statement because no one wants India to be ruled by theocratic fascists. The fundamental rights and freedoms of Kashmiris must be restored, especially their right to self-determination. It is a fair demand,” President Masood said on Sunday in Muzaffarabad.
Earlier, at an event held in connection with the disbursement of cash grant among Indian shelling affected people living along the Line of Control (LoC), the AJK President said that the help provided by the federal government to 610,000 members of 80,000 families is the recognition of their sacrifices as well as the recognition of the responsibilities assumed by the state government.
“Azad Kashmir is not only a strong defense line of Pakistan, but the people living near the Line of Control and facing direct aggression from India are the defenders of the motherland,” he added.
Commenting on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement to include over 100,000 people affected by Indian firing across the Line of Control in the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Scheme and to issue health cards to 1.2 million people in Azad Kashmir, He said that people from the occupied territories and the liberated territories want to be part of Pakistan not because of their geographical location but because of their faith and ideology.
Joe Biden seeks to restore the rights of people in occupied Kashmir
The AJK president said that India’s ruling party, the BJP and the RSS, have planned to eliminate the people of Kashmir, occupy their lands, reduce the number of Muslims in the assembly of occupied Kashmir and convert the entire state into a colony of India, but the people of the liberated and occupied parts of Kashmir would offer stiff resistance.
He went on to say that it is high time for the government and people of Pakistan as well as the brave people of Azad Kashmir to adopt an aggressive policy to counter India because “India constantly threatens to attack Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit- Baltistan.” “.
“Instead of saying that we will defend Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, we should also talk about the liberation of Khalistan, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Mizoram, and tell the world that India is no longer a secular state but has emerged as a fascist state “he added.
President Masood also said that India’s anti-Muslim measures have awakened Muslims around the world and a wave of revival of Islam has emerged across the Muslim world. “It is now clear that whether in Kashmir or Palestine, Muslims are willing to safeguard their interests.”
Referring to Azad Kashmir, he said the liberated territory can emerge as an economic driver for Pakistan. Currently, he maintained, 2,000 megawatts of electricity are generated in Azad Kashmir, while the territory has the potential to produce another 8,000 megawatts of electricity “although our own demand is between 300 and 400 megawatts, and the surplus electricity is injected into the grid. national”.
Once Kohala, Gulpur, Azad Pattan, Dudhnial and many other projects are completed in the next decade, Azad Kashmir will become the largest electricity generating region of Pakistan.
President Masood said that Azad Kashmir is not only strategically important for the defense of Pakistan but can also play an important role in the economic development of the country. “That is why we say Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and Kashmir has no identity without Pakistan.”
