AJK President Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry dies at 71

President Asif Ali Zardari expresses regret, describes Chaudhry’s services to politics as ‘invaluable’

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Advocate Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry passed away on Saturday at the age of 71.

Chaudhry also served as Prime Minister of AJK from 1996 to 2001. Additionally, he was President of Pakistan People’s Party in AJK from 1991 to 2001.

PPP Chairman and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari expressed grief over the death and described the deceased’s national and political services as “invaluable”.

His official Facebook page denied rumors about his health on January 10 and said that he was better than before.
