Aleem, Kanwal Shauzab Spar on a filtered video

Rawalpindi:

A brief tense exchange took place among the sister of the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, Aleema Khanum and former Mna Kanwal Shauzab party on Saturday at the Rawalpindi anti -terrorism court (ATC), after the circulation of a video in which Shauz was seen criticizing Aleem.

The confrontation took place when Shauzab approached Aleema, saying he wanted to talk to her.

In response, Aleema said: “Just leave it. What you said was correct. Many other people speak against us. Now we are accustomed to such accusations.”

Shauzab reiterated that he wanted to talk to her about it, which caused Aleema to reply: “I’m not angry with you, 1747538308 go.”

Shauzab said that a specific part of an old video against her was used.

Aleem, however, said that PML-N members and other parties had also spoken against her in the past. Then he moved away, seeing the conversation.

In the recently emerged clip, Shauzab may allegedly be heard criticizing Aleema for “disrespecting the holders of the party’s office and the interim president, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan”, saying that Imran’s sister “should not abolish the party.”

The former MNA supposedly added that he would personally face Aleema about the matter.

In a separate development, the court rejected a petition presented by Aleema that seeks an exemption from appearances in court to allow him to travel abroad. The request was dismissed by Judge ATC Amjad Ali Shah.

Speaking to the media outside the courtroom, Aleema said he had been constantly appearing during the past week due to what he described as “newer and more new cases”, which alleged that they were being presented to hinder their ability to travel.
