Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s sister Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, said Tuesday that the life of former prisoner prime minister was in danger and announced that the matter would be taken to the Supreme Court.

Speaking to people from the media outside the anti -terrorism court, Aleema said his brother and his nephew were arrested in “illegal” detention. “Our brother and nephew are illegal,” he told reporters, he added: “Our approach is in the release of innocent prisoners.”

Aleem claimed that the founder of PTI was being kept in lone confinement and denied access to newspapers and television. “Newspapers and television have been cut and has been placed in solitary confinement,” he said, accusing the prison authorities of violating basic rights. “The prison superintendent is lying, my brother doesn’t lie,” he said.

He also claimed that Bushra Bibi was being attacked to exert pressure on Imran Khan. “Efforts are being made to break the founder of PTI taking measures against Bushra Bibi,” said Aleema, while accusing Punjab prime minister to orchestrate the campaign. “Maryam Nawaz has sent this Superintendent to inflict injustice to the founder of PTI.”

By telling his brother’s message, he said: “The founder of PTI says that he will hold conversations for the good of the nation, not for a personal agreement.” He added: “The founder of PTI has sent a strong message: to finish personal disputes and launch a movement.”

“The founder of PTI is in a difficult situation; the part must talk about it,” he said.

Aleem also asked the public to act: “We are all victims of inflation; now the public must leave.” She urged: “People themselves must rise against the oppression system.”

Imran Khan has been after bars since August 2023 after he was hired in multiple cases ranging from corruption to terrorism after his expulsion from power in April 2022 through the movement without confidence of the opposition.

After his meeting with his brother on Tuesday, Aleem transmitted Imran’s concerns: “My access to television and newspapers has been cut and human rights were violated,” said Imran.

She said Khan had transmitted a message to parliamentarians to decide her political future and the basis of any future negotiation. “Just listen to the cases of the founder, and the matter will be resolved,” said Aleema.
