Aleem Khan hit with egg outside the Adiala prison

Aleem Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was beaten with an egg during a press conference in Dargal.

According to a Rawalpindi police spokesman, women involved in the incident, according to reports, affiliated with Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI), were arrested.

The incident took place after Aleem Khan did not answer his questions.

The lawyer Gohar Khan strongly condemned the egg attack against Aleema Khan, saying that PTI’s founder’s family should receive infallible security and urged the government to avoid such incidents.

While talking to the media outside the Adiala prison, journalists pressed Aleema Khan for alleged threats and online trolling of the Tayyab Baloch reporter. Baloch said he was attacked after questioning Aleema on Tuesday about a tweet Tweet Ammar Solangi, who alleged that he had bought properties using donation funds. He said that PTI’s social media teams launched a campaign against him and that he also received threats.

“You did not answer the question, but Tayyab Baloch was threatened. Is a crime asking a question? Does you only answer the questions of your choice?” The journalists asked.

Aleem Khan denied broadcasting any threat and left the facilities in his car after confrontation.

Toshakhana audience

The Audience of the case of Toshakhana 2.0 against the founder of PTI Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were suspended on Friday until September 8, after the court recorded testimonies of two prosecution witnesses during the trial in the prison in Adiala.

The declarations of the Customs of Tasador Sana Saeed and the headquarters of ADCG Abdullah Khan were documented.

Until now, testimonies of 13 witnesses have been recorded in the case, with an interrogation completed in 11 of them.

The founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi occurred in the courtroom from the prison. His defense was directed by Salman Safdar, Arshad Tabraiz and Qousain Faisal Mufti, while the special prosecutors of FIA Zulfiqar Naqvi and Umair Majaed Malik appeared for the agency. The two sisters of the founder of PTI, Aleema Khan and Dr. Uzma, were also present.

The hearing was held by the special central judge Shahrukh Arjemand in Adiala during the trial.

The former prime minister, Imran Khan, was arrested from his Lahore residence on August 5, 2023, after a court of first instance in Islamabad condemned him in the case of Toshakhana.

Imran Khan was accused of misuse of his 2018 prime minister to 2022 to buy and sell gifts in state possession that were received during visits abroad and with a value of more than RS140 million ($ 635,000).

Toshakhana 2.0 Case

Last year, the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) granted the bond to the former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana 2.0 case.

Judge Miangul Hassan Aurengzeb approved the Bail Declaration against the bail bonds of RS1 million each, and ordered him to appear before the Court of First Instance after his release.

According to the reference, Bushra Bibi received a set of Bulgari jewels, including a ring, bracelet, necklace and earrings, during a visit to Saudi Arabia from May 7 to 10, 2021. The researchers claim that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi illegally retained the set.

On May 28, 2021, the total value of the jewels was estimated at RS75,661,600, including RS56,496,000 for the necklace and RS15,065,600 for earrings. Under the rules of Toshakhana, the set should have been declared at RS35,765,800 after a 50 percent payment.

NAB’s reference alleges that the whole was undervalued, causing a loss of RS32,851,300 to the National Treasury.

CASE OF FALSE RECEIPS OF TOSHAKHANA

Former Prime Minister and Bushra Bibi were reserved in a fraud case at the Islamabad Kohsar Police Station for allegedly producing false receipts related to the sale of state gifts.

According to the FIR, it is alleged that the defendants presented falsified receipts to facilitate the purchase and sale of gifts of Toshakhana, using a firm forged for the alleged transaction.

According to the complaint, presented by a local surveillance dealership, the defendant allegedly used the falsified letterhead of his store to generate false invoices for Toshakhana’s gifts.

“The defendant tried to damage the reputation of my business by generating false invoices,” said the plaintiff at the FIR.

The case comes in the context of accusations that Imran Khan did not reveal the details of Toshakhana’s gifts retained during his term as prime minister.
