Alex Warren reflected on his life before fame and the struggles he went through to earn public validation.

“My whole life I wasn’t the best singer in my class. I wasn’t amazing. My choir teacher didn’t believe in me, to say the least,” he admitted.

Warren further admitted that she used to feel like her voice wasn’t what people would like. “They liked Justin Bieber, writing songs about girls, hot guys,” he explained. “And I was a chubby white kid who was redder than anything else.”
Sharing his experience of being nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards, before you leave me The singer said he found the recognition “very validating.”
He added: “I think I’ve worked very hard to become who I am today and that was one of those moments where I could look up at the sky and be very excited.”

The 2026 Grammy Awards will be held on February 1.
