Alex Warren had a horrible experience at her first Grammy performance this year, but Chappell Roan was one of the people on her side offering support at the time.
The 25-year-old pop star faced a technical difficulty during her performance at the show that left her feeling like her career was over.
However, ordinary The hitmaker shared that after making it through the performance despite not being able to hear himself on the microphone, he told Alex Cooper on calls his daddy podcast, who with his head resting on his wife’s shoulder spent the rest of the ceremony feeling “distraught.”
Warren shared that Roan, 26, noticed his distress and approached him at his seat. “Chappell 100% saw that I was distraught and came up to me. He was like, ‘Dude, if anyone understands, it’s the people in this room, and you sounded amazing,'” he said.
The Best New Artist nominee noted that he “will never forget how sweet he was for that.”
On the same podcast, Warren told the host that the performance had been rehearsed all week and went smoothly except for the main day.
“It’s like ’30 seconds’. I said, ‘I can’t hear anything, I can’t hear myself.’ It’s live television. Twenty-five seconds. I’m like, ‘Guys, something’s wrong,'” he said, recalling the incident.
He had a moment to decide and decided “this is meant to happen” and went on stage and continued with the performance despite the lack of technical support.
