- Amazon has changed the deadline for the launch of Alexa +’s web version
- A company spokesman told Washington Post that Alexa+ is still refining for the web before implementing it to try users
- Despite delaying its launch, the reasons for this decision remain a mystery and an exact launch date has not yet been revealed
When Amazon announced the Alexa+ Voice updated in February, the company promised many new improvements, including new listening powers and broader compatibility with intelligent domestic devices, but once again, Amazon has delayed one of its greatest characteristics.
Amazon had previously revealed that a version based on the Alexa+ website would be among the new updates for the voice assistant. However, due to a last minute change by the company, the launch date for the deployment of Alexa.com has spread, despite the fact that the Alexa+ application version is now available for early access users in the United States.
According to the Washington Post ($/£), which had access to documents from inside Amazon, the company may have “underestimated the work necessary to launch Alexa.com”. Now, according to the company’s documents, Alexa +’s web version will arrive “just July 31”, which means that test users will have to wait a little longer to fall.
Despite this statement, Amazon spokeswoman, Lauren Raemhild, told The Post that Alexa.com has not been delayed and “will be available with Alexa+ Early Access this summer”, which suggests at the end of August. He added that Amazon “continues to tune the experience how (we) expand more customers”, but an official date has not yet been announced.
The thrust is still a mystery
This last delay for the broader deployment of Alexa+ means more frustration for Amazon customers waiting to test the new intelligent assistant. The company claims to have published “90 percent of the features announced in February.”, And as of June, Alexa+ has been implemented to more than one million test users in the United States.
If the launch of Alexa.com has been delayed, and if the reason for the delay is related to the large amount of work and the necessary evidence to launch Alexa+ completely on the ground, it would not be a surprise, since we have seen that this happens with Apple’s plans to launch its improved Siri voice assistant with AI.
As mentioned, an official launch date of Alexa.com has not yet been announced, but if we had to guess in a term, we would expect it to reach the latest on August 31, it is if Amazon maintains its promise that the rest of Alexa’s early access features will arrive before the end of the summer.
