- ALIEN: Earth It will not refer to what happened in the films that take place before
- One of his producers says he gave his creator more freedom to tell his own history.
- Fans want to know why previous films events are not mentioned in the television series FX
One of ALIEN: EarthThe producers have confirmed whether the events in the established films before the inaugural television program of the franchise were taken into account for their history. In short: no.
Chatting with PakGazette ahead of the debut of the science fiction horror series in mid -August, David W Zucker admitted ALIEN: Earth It is not actively ignoring what was described in past films that are prior to the program from a timeline perspective. However, Zucker argued that there was not “much mythology to deal with” those films before ALIEN: EarthDevelopment: a comment that will surely arouse the interest of fans for a long time, and confuses and/or to enraged Foreign devotees
Before entering the essence of what Zucker really said, let’s see the facts: In-universe, ALIEN: Earth It is established in the year 2120. That places it two years before Foreign and the subsequent films led by Sigourney Weaver that follow.
The only films found before in the Foreign Timeline, then, are Prometheuswhose main story takes place in 2093 (although the film begins in 2089), and ALIEN: Pactwhich takes place in 2104. You can see what we did with these films, plus your brothers, in our best Foreign Classified movies.
But I’m deviating. Considering what happens in Prometheus and ALIEN: Pact – I will not spoil what is happening to anyone who has not seen one or both films – fans have wondered if ALIEN: Earth He will address the mythology of the franchise detailed in that pair. They are part of the Foreign Timeline, then that makes its Canon stories and, therefore, be open to being referenced in the original FX TV, right?
Not so, Zucker indicated when I asked him to clarify things for the property fans base.
“Fortunately, like [series creator] Noah [Hawley] He said before, there was not much mythology with which he really dealt, so he left great freedom, “Zucker replied.” But, this was something that came out of Noah’s mind, and something that through the historical relationship he has had with FX.
“As soon as [FX Chairman] John Landograp could take the opportunity to explore a series in this space, sincerely, there was no one better who could have taken advantage of.
“Then, the relationship he [Noah] And Ridley really became one, “Zucker added.” Noah used the original film as its starting point to undertake its own new shot and history in an environment of the series. It became one that we really benefit through all the originality, creativity and freshness of thought in the story that chose to tell. “
Zucker’s comments further confuse the waters of what other people involved in the production of Hulu and Disney+ Show have said.
Speaking to Variety at the end of July, the president of FX Entertainment, Gina Balian, did little to clarify things, saying: “Everything does not have to fit in the way she expects from Marvel. Fans do not expect that in this universe. It does not have the same pressure.”
Otherwise, Hawley told Empire (Per Popverse) magazine: “That first film came out in 1979 and Prometheus came out in 2012 … So you are talking about 40 years in which there was no black substance, or David, or engineers. ForeignFor me, it is baked as these creatures that have existed for millions of years. They are the perfectly evolved species. What you have to do is tell these stories of an organic place of fans within you. “
Things are not clarified exactly, but what do you think? Does it matter if ALIEN: Earth Address what happened in Prometheus and Alien: Pact? Answer me in the comments.
