The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced on Tuesday that all officers of their Aviation Security Directorate have been internationally certified as Aviation Security Inspectors, after a training program sponsored by the United Kingdom delivered by instructors accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao).
The certification, facilitated by the Department of Transportation of the United Kingdom (DFT), marks a significant milestone to align the Pakistan aviation security protocols with global standards. The measure is expected to improve regulatory supervision, strengthen compliance and drive Pakistan’s rating under the Global Audit frame of Icao.
“This training will play a fundamental role in improving the capacities of our national aviation security inspectors and will help increase compliance with international standards,” the CAA said in an official statement.
Made in Pakistan, the training program was directed by instructors from the United Kingdom qualified for leisure and formally designates all CAA officers in the Security Directorate as certified inspectors.
This accreditation allows them to carry out security and compliance evaluations in accordance with the ICAO Universal Security Audit Program (USAP), which evaluates how effectively the Member States implement international system supervision systems of aviation security.
Pakistan has previously achieved a high classification in southern Asia under the qualification of effective implementation of Icao, a global reference point that measures compliance with international aviation security standards.
In addition, the CAA said it is expanding its inspector training programs through international academic locations. Two officers have been selected for postgraduate studies fully financed in France and South Korea, through coordination with the respective civil aviation authorities of both countries.
