Alleged forced conversion, marriage of three Hindu girls protest of sparks

After the district of Sanghar, an identical case of alleged kidnapping and the forced conversion of the religion of three Hindu girls have emerged in the district of Tando Allahyar, where the Kolhi and Meghwadh families have also housed FIR with the police. Three signed were recorded on Sunday at the Sultanabad Police Station, stating that young women were kidnapped from different locations in the limits of that police station.

The parents also alleged that their daughters, including Khenchi Kolhi, can Devi Meghwad and Meena Meghwadh, were forced to change their religion to Islam on July 13. The Hindu community also organized manifestations of sitting, demanding the arrest of the assumptions kidnappers. According to them, the girls were minors and, therefore, cannot marry according to the law.

Tanveer Brohi and Qadir Brohi have been accused in the FIR for kidnapping Khenchi; Saeed Ahmed Kharal, Ali Akbar Punjabi and Mashallah Brohi for can; and Ali Sher Brohi and Abdul Sattar Brohi, both brothers, for Meena. The FIR 44/2025, 45/2025 and 46/2025 numbers have been recorded in sections 365/B and 34 of the Pakistan Criminal Code (PPC).

The protest ended in police security that they would arrest the defendants and recover young women. Meanwhile, on Tuesday the three women appeared before the Hyderabad Circuit Bank of the Sindh Superior Court along with Tanveer, Saeed and Ali Sher. They declared before the SHC that they have voluntarily changed their religion and that they have married the three men. Women also changed their Hindu names to Muslim names after conversion. His new names are Kalsoom, Bisma and Samaima, they informed the court that granted a protective bond to couples.

The president of the Human Rights Commission of Sindh, Iqbal Ahmed Det, wrote a letter to the SSP Tando Allahyar, asking him to guarantee a fair investigation of the matter, especially with respect to the ages of young women. He reiterated that if they were minors, the solemnization of marriages would be equivalent to the child marriage restriction law of Sindh, 2013.
