Islamabad: Outside the development budget reviewed down RS1,096 billion, the federal government has spent only 54%, around RS0.593 billion, during the first 11 months of the outgoing fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the SDGS achievement program, a contentious initiative reserved for Treasury legislators, used 71% of its reviewed assignment of RS48 billion, worth RS35 billion at the end of the fiscal year.

Now the government is ready to assign RS1 Billones for the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) in the next budget for 2025-26. The Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) is scheduled to consider the next PSDP on Monday (today). The development expense of RS1.4 Billones had been assigned for PSDP together with the private public association, but was reviewed downward twice at RS1.25 billion and then reduced to RS1,096 billion.
In the first 11 months (July to May) 2025-26, the Government sanctioned RS0.64 billion, of which the expense of rupee components in the development budget stood at RS0.47 billion in the first 11 months. The currency component is expected at RS226 billion throughout the fiscal year, of which the use stood at RS0.123 billion in the first 11 months of CFY.
The sources said that the release of funds remained slow in the first half of the CFY, because the development schemes could not obtain impulse.
The Government will now assign the financing of PSDP of RS1 billion against the demand of the ministries of RS3 billion. The Ministry of Planning argued to increase the PSDP to RS1.6 billion to complete certain schemes in progress, but finally the assignment in RS1 billion was proposed.
Initially, the Ministry of Finance had given an indicative budget roof of RS0.921 billion, but then increased to RS1 billion for the next budget.
