Amazon has presented the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, the first of its devices to send with the Vega de Amazon operating system. Until now it is also the only one: the other new Fire TV releases are using the previous and family operating system.
The interface looks very similar, but when the previous operating system was based on the Open Android source project (AOSP) with a Amazon image change, the new software is a completely new flavor of Linux. The 4K select list price of $ 39.99 / £ 49.99 is cheaper than $ 49.99 / £ 59.99 of the regular FIRE TV Stick 4K, although at the time of writing, you can obtain the most expensive model for $ 24.99 on Amazon US and by £ 25.99 on Amazon UK, which makes the update model much better.

Then, before entering the specifications, the existing models are definitely the best option if you are thinking of buying at this time. But if you want to know the real differences that are between them, let’s enter them.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Select vs Fire TV Stick 4K and Max: What is the difference?
The most important thing you should know about FIRE TV Stick 4K Select is that it is under the existing 4K and 4K Max models. Amazon describes it as best for the “essential 4K transmission”, with the existing 4K model that delivers “4K cinematographic” and the 4K Max “powerful 4K transmission”.
The first and I think the most important difference is that the new selection has 4K with HDR10+, but lacks Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, the Audio encoded by Dolby can pass through its HDMI port so that its TV or sound bar decodes it, if they admit it.

The second biggest difference is that you can only execute applications made to run in the Vega operating system, and in the launch, there will be some applications that are not available. However, the key stoamers are there: Amazon highlighted Prime Video, Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, HBO Max, Tubi, Pluto TV, Starz, Paramount+and Peacock. It also shows support for Apple TV+ in its promotional images.
Amazon Luna and Xbox Cloud Gaming Services are promised to support in the future, although possibly not at launch.
And while it will not affect all users, the new selection does not support the lateral response: for applications it is Amazon’s Way or the road. And that can be relevant to you if one of the applications in which he trusts has not yet been remade for Vega: he cannot bring the Android version.
The 4K SELECT lacks the image characteristic of the image of the other two 4K models, and while Alexa+ is reaching it, we do not know when, it is listed as “soon.”
The Wi-Fi is also different. The select has Wi-Fi 5, while the 4K has Wi-Fi 6 and the 4K Max has Wi-Fi 6E.
There are also less RAM: 1 GB in the 2 GB selection in the 4K Stick. However, we cannot make a similar comparison there, because it is a different operating system and Amazon may have optimized to offer the same speed with a more modest memory.
I think that if I were buying a fire television stick at this time, I would go through the 4K Max with its maximum set of features, and the lateral response (and future versions may not have this).
