- Amazon has just announced a device event for February 26
- The event chart invites us to “see what follows”
- Amazon is likely to use the stage to finally show your next -generation Alexa
We have all been wondering where the Alexa infused with AI is, and it seems that the technology giant is almost ready to tell us. Amazon has just sent invitations for an event focused on the devices on February 26. Panay Panay, the Senior Vice President of Amazon devices, will be there together with other members of the device and services team, and we have a teaser image with a very familiar tone of blue. The event will be in New York City, although it is only invitation, and Amazon will not broadcast it live.
Amazon promises that “we will see what follows.” That is the only prominent text in the invitation, along with the brand logo and date. It is not much to leave, although it causes products and services. Perhaps the greatest indication is a Swirly form in bright blue, perhaps a part of a tiny script ‘A’.
We all know that Amazon is working in its next generation of Alexa’s virtual wizard, which was shown in the last formal devices event held in September 2023 at the second headquarters of the company in Virginia. Since then, however, we have not had many news apart from the leaks in which they are working and that will finally be released.
Amazon jumped a formal device event in 2024, but several were still used throughout the year, especially a new Kindles alignment in October. There was also the large echo show 21 along with a next -generation 15 Echo show in November, and the echo point was reintroduced during the summer. The three, as well as the rest of the alignment of Echo, still present the same old Alexa assistant that we have all known.
That same version of Alexa is also found in the new Fire TV devices: a entry level transmission lever and the first TV models with LED engine. It remains to be seen if these devices will make fun for the first time in September 2023 with a support of LLM for a more conversational tone, and if the rumored ‘brain transplant’ will be compatible.
Alexa Premium?
Suffice it to say that Amazon is clearly ready to talk about something, and it seems that all signs point to Alexa’s next generation. The use of “devices and services” is also worth a call, since it is rumored that Amazon could end up charging by Alexa. Amazon could also debut a new hardware, which could be a full -generation full -size echo speaker, or even an endowment of the dot the size of a bite.
We will know soon, since the event is just three weeks away, and Techradar will be on the ground, breaking down what Panos and the Amazon team present. Let us know in the comments what you think could be shown and if you would pay for Alexa smarter and more capable.
