Amazon just unveiled its first update to the Fire TV Stick interface in five years, and it could put Google TV to shame

  • Amazon has unveiled the first major Fire TV redesign in five years, featuring new designs and smarter color schemes.
  • In addition to its redesign, the Fire TV interface reduces the amount of time you spend searching for titles to watch, making it easier to find movies from your streaming services.
  • Plus, you can now pin up to 20 different apps to your home screen and use Alexa+ across the entire interface.

One of the few brands absent at CES 2026 is Amazon, but despite this, the company has not gone into hibernation and there are some interesting new updates on the horizon.

After presenting its new ‘lifestyle TV’, Amazon Ember Artline, the company announced great news about Fire TV: a new interface renewal will arrive after five years, and there is no doubt that its goal is to seriously compete with Google TV.

Launched in February on Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series first in the US, the new look of the Fire TV is modern, with smooth animations and polished design improvements, and promises to be easy to navigate. It also comes with a new navigation bar with dedicated movies, TV shows, and other entertainment sections, but that’s just a taste of what’s going on.

In its blog post announcing the new interface, Amazon described the redesign as “cleaner, faster, and better organized,” with the goal of helping you spend more time streaming and less time searching, a common problem we movie buffs encounter. The new Fire TV revamp aims to reduce this time by grouping movies, TV shows, sports, news and live content from its streaming services into a single space in the user interface.
