- Prime Air Drones from Amazon can now deliver more articles to your first users
- Which includes smartphones, airps, video timbres and more
- Customers no longer need a QR code to tell the drone where to go
Amazon Air Drone drone delivery service has been available for some years, but has been limited in several key ways. However, things are changing now, since the company has just obtained approval to transport new categories of articles to customers in the United States, including Apple Airtags and some of the best smartphones.
When announcing the news, Amazon said that his main air service has received the approval of the FAA to handle devices such as “Apple iPhones, Samsung Galaxy cell phones, Apple Airtags, Apple Airpods, Toilebells and Alpha Grillers Instant food thermometers.”
That should give you many more options when it comes to asking for these articles. Amazon says that it aims to put them in their hands within 60 minutes after payment, so it is an tempting option if one of the best iPhones really needs an urgently (an unlikely scenario, but anyway) or simply cannot wait.
There are some warnings about recent changes. On the one hand, the article owed for delivery must weigh five pounds or less. For another, it must be in one of the places covered by the Amazon drone service, which includes College Station in Texas and the Phoenix West Valley area, Arizona.
In addition to that, the weather must be adequate for DRON VULE, and must choose from one of the 60,000 items available for delivery through drone.
How the main air planning process works
Amazon also revealed how the main air deliveries are seen in its purchasing application. If you live in an eligible area and request something that weighs less than five pounds, you will see a drone delivery option in the output section. Then choose a place of delivery in your direction, which can be configured as its default value (as well as a typical “safe space).
Amazon also says that he has improved his delivery estimates so that he can provide a more precise delivery window, usually required in five minutes. The company will also inform you if your package cannot be delivered and the accompanying reason.
If the process can continue, the drone identifies adequate delivery areas that are free of obstacles such as buildings, trees and cars. Then, once a place is close to where he lives, he will descend to about 13 feet, what Amazon says it is “low enough to deliver a security and safely.” Unlike before, you no longer need to place a QR code in its delivery location, since the drone will automatically know where to stop.
Therefore, if you live in the right area and are desperate for a new phone, smart bell or a set of AirPods, Amazon’s main air service could be what you need, if you simply walk the stores is not an option, of course.
