- Advance orders should be launched for AMD RX 9070 GPUs on March 23, according to an American retailer
- However, there are a couple of reasons why this is probably bad
- We have also seen more strangeness around the previously rumored launch of January 23 for RDNA 4, since an advertising campaign seems to have failed
As if enough, the launch of GPU RDNA 4 of AMD has not surrounded, it has been a strange issue, something in Team Red seems to have failed again on the marketing side, and we have also caught a mention of a possible new release date for RX 9070 graphics cards.
However, I believe that the date shared by an American retailer is out of place, and only a position score, so we try that first.
The story here is that B&H Photo previously published what he thought was the date on which players could reserve RX 9070 models, namely, January 23, but, of course, that did not happen.
Instead, AMD made an advertisement to inform us that RX 9070 graphics cards will not arrive until March (even within the official framework of the first 2025 quarter that was previously promised, it is worth pointing).
After that, Videcardz saw that B&H Photo now has a date of March 23 for the advances in the RDNA 4 graphics cards, and the retailer still has this date in his place (it has not yet been eliminated).
The strange thing about this is that March 23 is a Sunday, so it seems very unlikely that a sales milestone (early orders or, in fact, the real date for sale) is a weekend. Surely, AMD would wait until Monday (March 24) if it were the plan.
In addition, taking into account that the previous date that B&H published was on January 23, it seems that what could have happened here is that a personnel member who works in the product listings has just replaced the name of the month on the date, and left the same day on the same day. (Although an update was published in the lists of RDNA 4, when nothing is official, it is a good question).
Hence my conclusion that this is very similar to a position marker date, given the way this has happened, and the additional fact that it is a Sunday.
Was the Reddit campaign not canceled?
The second rarity that supports some previous rumors, and the initial date of January B&H attached to the early orders of RX 9070, is that some AMD ads have appeared, going for reports, claiming that it can ‘play now’ with the new RDNA 4 GPU .
Videocardz noticed again, and it happened yesterday, on January 23, so a theory is that this was a date on which AMD had planned that something big happened, whether a release or revelation. (However, if you can ‘play now’, then the GPUs would surely be on sale). The Red team had a lot of marketing things scheduled for Reddit (as marked here) around this, which accidentally still continued in some way (with these ads appearing in some different countries in Europe, apparently published in German, Italian and Polish ).
The non -unmissable conclusion that people are coming is that AMD had something planned for January 23, especially because there were many rumors that this was the case (although some mentioned on January 24, although everything was at the same stage of the week that we find ourselves now). But all this has now postponed to March, although officially, as mentioned, AMD has never said anything concrete for the launch of RX 9070 out of its Q1 2025.
The rumors of RDNA 4 have taken some very strange turns, but the good news is that it seems that it will be worth waiting for these next generation graphics cards. Even if we have to endure until later in March, instead of seeing that the RX 9070 GPUs emerge at the beginning of the month, and in reality, I would not influence the new B & H’s request for all the aforementioned reasons. .
