Onijah Andrew Robinson, an American woman who traveled to Karachi to marry a 19 -year -old local man, had publicly demanded $ 100,000 to help facilitate her return to the United States and “fix Pakistan.”
However, it has apparently received only RS100,000 (around $ 320). A video that circulates online shows Robinson counting the money, and the person recording confirming that he now has RS100,000.
Robinson, 33, arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024, with the intention of marrying Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom he met on social networks.
However, Memon’s family opposed the union, leaving it stranded.
Despite the assistance of a non -governmental organization, which includes a return ticket and financial aid, Robinson initially refused to leave and camped outside the Memon residence.
At a press conference at the Office of the Welfare Organization of Chhipa, Robinson declared: “Give me money. The government should give me $ 100,000.”
She claimed to have married Memon online and insisted that her intentions had no financial motivation.
Robinson’s son, Jeremiah, revealed that his mother suffers from bipolar disorder and urged her to return home. He expressed concern about the representation of the media of his situation.
Since then, the authorities have transferred Robinson to the psychiatric room of the Jinnah postgraduate medical center for evaluation.
