- Compact and powerful, Planck SSD offers transfer speeds of 1,050 Mb/s
- USB-C had enable the dual use of SSD and external monitor support
- The direct recording to SSD eliminates the fallen frames in the 4K Prores footage
Shiftcam has announced the SSD Planck, a mini external storage solution for commercial smartphones and commercial laptops, which connects through USB-C and offers up to 2 TB of storage.
The SSD Planck works with NVME technology, which allows reading and writing speeds of up to 1,050 MB/sys a transfer speed of up to 10 Gbps. This level of performance admits, for example, direct recording to SSD for the 4K Video Apple Prores at 60 or 120 paintings per second without fallen frames.
Given these 120 FPS videos, they consume about 264 GB for only ten minutes of footage, this external storage solution is essential for those who work with high resolution content in the video editing software.
Durable and reliable for any environment
The name “Planck” is inspired by the scientific term associated with incredibly small amounts in physics; The minimal SSD factor should mean that it can also accommodate a cardan used for stabilized video records.
Despite its compact size, the company states that the Planck SSD will have dust resistance/IP65 water and will be timed with drops of up to three meters, which makes it ideal for outdoor outbreaks.
It also supports a USB-C center that allows two Planck SSDs to be used simultaneously. This center also includes an HDMI port, which allows users to connect an external monitor for direct media reproduction.
According to Shiftcam, the suggested retail prices for Planck are $ 129 for 1 TB and $ 199 per 2TB, with the launch expected in the spring of 2025.
Shiftcam CEO Benson Chiu said in a press release: “[its] The mission with Planck is to eliminate the barriers of traditional storage and empower creators to concentrate on their trade. We have designed a tool that is so portable and powerful that it becomes an invisible but essential part of any workflow of creators. “
