ISLAMABAD:

The body of the German diplomat, Thomas Fielder, was recovered from his apartment in the Diplomatic Enclave, within the confines of the Secretariat Police Station.

Fielder served as Third Secretary of the German Embassy in Islamabad.

According to police, embassy staff visited Fielder’s apartment when he didn’t show up for work. After several attempts to contact him failed to respond, embassy officials authorized staff to force entry into the apartment. They discovered Fielder’s lifeless body, which appeared to be in deteriorated condition.

The body was shifted to the PIMS Hospital mortuary. However, a post-mortem examination is pending as the German embassy is seeking formal permission from Fielder’s family in Germany, particularly his wife.

Initial findings

A special investigation team from the federal police inspected the scene and collected evidence at the diplomat’s residence. Police noticed visible bleeding from Fielder’s nose and mouth. Medical experts consulted by the research team suggested that these symptoms could be due to complications related to hypertension or a possible heart attack.

Sources confirmed that Fielder had a history of high blood pressure and heart-related ailments. Doctors indicated that severe hypertension could cause internal bleeding and cardiac arrest, which is consistent with the symptoms observed.

German embassy officials have requested that the autopsy be delayed until they receive formal consent from Fielder’s family. The embassy has assured federal police that they are in contact with the family and will pass on instructions once permission is obtained.

Police have said they are investigating the case from all angles. Authorities have promised to proceed with the autopsy and conduct further investigations as soon as clearance is obtained.
