Anchorage Digital Ceo calls ‘shit’ in the DHS probe report

The CEO of Anchorage Digital, Nathan McCauley, denied the reports that the United States National Security Department (DHS) is investigating the cryptographic bank, calling the “shit” reports during a discussion panel in consensus 2025 in Toronto on Wednesday

In an article published last month, the commercial publication Barron’s reported that the DHS money laundering and crimes unit, the El Dorado task force, was contacting former Anchorage employees to ask them about the practices and policies of the company. Neither Anchorage nor DHS commented on the record of that story.

After the report, McCauley said his firm asked his lawyers to investigate the accusations and found that they were false.

“There is no investigation into us, as is unequivocally clear at this time,” said McCauley. “That article is what some could call shit. Happy to clear the air in that.”

Anchorage Digital is widely considered one of the most regulatory companies in cryptographic space. In December, he obtained a highly coveted bitícense and difficult to obtain from the New York Financial Services Department (NYDFS), one of the most difficult regulators in the cryptographic industry.
