- Some pixel owners report problems of the Android 16 blockade screen
- They say that the screen can be slow and insensitive
- Until now, Google has not issued any official council on the subject
The official launch of Android 16 was launched last month, with the best pixels phones first online for update, but it seems that the software is causing blocking screen problems for a significant number of pixel owners.
A variety of problems have been informed, according to 9to5google. These include the lock screen that does not wake up when it is used, and does not respond to press the ignition button, as well as identification problems of digital fingerprints and extreme variations in the brightness.
“I have been experiencing a significant and frustrating delay when trying to wake up my phone,” writes a user in the Pixel phone help forums. “I often have to press several times before the phone finally reacts. This problem occurs once or twice a day.”
For that particular user, there was a solution: start in safe mode (see here) and then restart normally. If you are experiencing something similar, then it is worth trying, but even with a possible solution available, it is not something that Google is delighted to see.
Problems to wake up
“Has anyone else noticed problems in which the screen does not wake up when you touch the screen or try to use Lift to Wake?” Ask another user in Reddit. “Also pressing the ignition button has a long delay that awakens the screen.”
That user informs that their problems are with a 9 Pro XL Pixel, and that the problem has logged in with Google. If you have difficulties with Android 16, Google’s help portal is a good starting point to get help.
So far, Google has not said anything officially about the problems, perhaps because the mistakes that are informeal are very numerous and so varied. The types of problems that are mentioned are the type that could well be solved with a future Android Software Update 16.
It is difficult to evaluate how extended these problems are at this time, they are definitely affecting some Pixel users, but not all pixels. However, even if only a small number of people are beaten, it is disappointing that we are still seeing mistakes like this after several months of beta tests.
