- Many users are currently experiencing problems with Android Auto
- Galaxy and Pixel phones are among those affected
- Samsung and Google have not yet commented on the bugs.
There appears to be a major bug (or perhaps several bugs) affecting Android Auto right now, with a significant number of users reporting that they are having trouble connecting their phone to their vehicle’s dashboard.
Autoevolution has a report highlighting issues specifically with the new Samsung Galaxy S26 phones: Apparently, connections to Android Auto just aren’t working for these phones for certain users, with no real clues as to why.
An entire post on Reddit summarizes some of the complaints, and users are even considering returning their phones: “There’s no way I’m keeping this phone if it doesn’t work with Android Auto,” writes one Redditor.

While we haven’t received any official comment from Samsung, some users report that they have been able to get their phones working after applying the latest software patches. Others have resorted to manually installing an older version of Android Auto.
Pixels too
It’s not just the Galaxy S26 phones that are having issues with Android Auto right now. Another Autoevolution article reports that Google Pixel phone owners are also having problems, particularly with wired connections to their dashboard.
In these cases, the problems appear to have started after the recent software update that Google released to Pixel phones this month. One theory is that the Advanced Protection security feature on these devices is blocking Android Auto from connecting.
There are posts on the Android Auto help forums explaining that Android Auto won’t connect while the phone is locked, which it should. Once again, there has been no official response from Google so far.
While it is difficult to estimate how many users this affects, there are many complaints. Hopefully Google and Samsung are investigating and can fix these issues as soon as possible.
