- Cyberpunk 2077 is now fully playable on RedMagic 11 Pro Android phone
- The game runs at 30+ fps when using FSR Frame Generation via PC emulation
- This means that high-end Android phones are now capable of playing AAA games
Portable PC gaming has come a long way over the years: the Steam Deck put it back on gamers’ radars in 2020, and other devices like the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X will deliver better power and performance in 2025; and now, we’re looking at an unusual device that provides performance results close to those of Valve’s handheld.
As reported by Tom’s Hardware, the RedMagic 11 Pro Android phone works Cyberpunk 2077 above 30 frames per second via PC emulation, as demonstrated by the popular YouTube tech channel ETA Prime. PC emulation on an Android phone is possible by using different compatibility layers, in particular GameHub in the ETA Prime test.
To clarify further, this is Cyberpunk 2077 runs natively on a high-end Android device, without any streaming, and is made possible by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor powering the RedMagic 11 Pro. It’s also paired with a liquid-cooled setup that allows it to run games like Cyberpunk 2077‘ without overheating as expected, considering the game’s high system requirements.
At 720p with FSR 2.1 balanced upscaling enabled on the low graphics preset, the game hits up to 37fps, although it mostly stays at 30fps or just below. Performance results are even better when using FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, as it stays within the high 40fps range, sometimes even at 50fps.
When using the Steam Deck graphics preset, the RedMagic 11 Pro stays at just under 30fps and reaches the high 40fps range again when FSR Frame Generation is enabled. With those configurations alone, it’s a huge step forward for a high-end Android device and proof that Android phones are now capable of playing AAA games.
Look
It’s time to get serious about mobile gaming
Although the RedMagic 11 Pro emulation of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC it’s not perfect, it’s a very impressive start to what many would have considered impossible as it runs at playable frame rates.
The image quality isn’t the best and there’s still a long way to go to replicate the performance of a portable gaming PC, but testing shows it’s closer than we thought. It’s also worth noting that those tests were performed only in Cyberpunk 2077a game that is a difficult benchmark for most budget or low-end PC hardware, so the RedMagic 11 Pro’s feats must be highlighted.
If this Android can work Cyberpunk 2077then less demanding games like hell, street fighter 6or even GTA 5 It should also run at playable frame rates. It’s a pleasure to see mobile gaming coming this far, and I’m sure we’ll soon see official ports of PC ports on Android once more powerful chips are used in phones.
