Kansas City bosses Chief coach Andy Reid remained perplexed by the decision not to expel the defensive Tacking Tafe Tart Tart from Friday night after hitting Travis Kelce in the head.
In statements to the media on Monday before the Chiefs game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Reid was asked about the NFL Rule that requested an unnecessary roughness penalty instead of an automatic suspension.

“Yes, I don’t understand that, that rule,” Reid said.

The incident took place in the third quarter after Kelce continued Block after the whistle flew. Tart seemed to attack Kelce with an open hand blow in retaliation.
“I guess it’s an open fist, whatever, I don’t know. I want to say, I don’t know what your decision was. But it was definitely beaten in the head quite strong, whether an open fist or a closed fist,” Reid continued.

According to the NFL rules book, an open hand strike is illegal, but does not require mandatory disqualification. A closed punched would require automatic disqualification.
Reid was asked if he had obtained clarity from the league regarding the decision.
“Yes, I will solve it with the League.”
