The Chicago Sky star, Angel Reese, made clear the recent negotiations between the WNBA and the union of its player, the WNBPA, on a new collective bargaining agreement.
Reese said that the proposal that the WNBA sent to the players was “disrespectful.”
“It was a revelation for me. Like, listening to things and listening to the language of things and not the things I was happy to listen. The things that sent us back, the proposal they sent us back,” Reese to the journalists of the weekend of the WNBA weekend on Friday.

“It is important to be a vocal. If I feel, it seems that I don’t care.”
Reese is one of the most popular and polarizing players in the League, and has built a large passionate monitoring of its ongoing rivalry with the Caitlin Clark phenomenon that dates back to its university days. Clark and Reese’s rookie season in 2024 saw the league break multiple audience and assistance records, particularly due to games with Clark and Indiana Fover.

“Obviously, female basketball is shooting. And it is important for us to get what we want now, not only now, but also for the future,” Reese said. “It is really nice to have veterinarians who may not be playing for 10 more years, but they are talking for us because they know how important it is at this time.”
The players met with the League officials on Thursday, and the two parties did not reach an agreement. Reese is one of the many WNBA players who have expressed criticism for the management of the League negotiations.
The New York Liberty star, Sabrina Ionescu, said the players would not settle for “the minimum” in the negotiations, while the PHOENIX player Mercury Satou Sabally described the last CBA of the League, offers a “slap.”
The WNBA commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, told Associated Press after the meeting that the meeting was “constructive.”
“It was a very constructive dialogue. I think that, obviously, part of the process is to come and go and, listening to the players, listen to us and the owners who represent the Board of Governors,” said Engelbert. “I still really feel optimistic that we can do something transformative at the end. But it is a process.”
Reese previously lit a fire storm from social networks after claiming that players are prepared to sit games to demand higher wages during an episode of Your podcast In early March, observing the next CBA negotiations.

“I have to go into the meetings, because I listen as’ if they don’t give us what we want, we sit,” said Reese.
Reese has adjusted on its financial situation in the past.
“The WNBA Do not pay my invoices at all. I don’t even think I pay one of my invoices. Literally, “Reese said.
Reese signed a four -year rookie contract and $ 324,383 before her first WNBA season in 2024. She won less than $ 75,000 in her first year and will win less than that in 2025.
In October, Reese admitted that he could not pay his bills depending on that salary, in a live Instagram video.
“I am living beyond my possibilities. Hateing you pay for invoices, baby. I just hope you know that the wnba does not pay my invoices,” he said. “I don’t even think he pays one Of my invoices. Literally, I’m trying to think about my rent where I stay. Let me make mathematics very fast. Don’t even know my salary (WNBA), $ 74,000? “
Reese said he is paying $ 8,000 per rent.

“Nena, if they thought … that WNBA check does not pay anything,” he added. “Did I even pay that my car’s note? … I couldn’t even eat a sandwich with that. I couldn’t even eat. I couldn’t live.”
The WNBA players union opted for its current collective bargaining agreement last October, two years before expiration. The current CBA will still cover the 2025 season, so the two parties have one year to negotiate a new agreement.
