The confrontation of Saturday afternoon between Indiana Fover and Chicago Sky was the most watched WNBA game in ESPN, and was up to the expectations.

It was the starter of the season for both squads, and it was the first battle between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese since last year.

And although both players have said publicly, there is no rivalry or animosity between them, there were fireworks when Clark committed a flagrant foul on Reese, and Reese had to be arrested.

After the game, the WNBA launched an investigation into alleged hate comments against Reese. She said last year that Clark, Indiana and fans of the University of Iowa, had been racist towards her throughout the season.

In the midst of the investigation, a Tiktok user published a video that said that saying that there is a “rivalry” between the two teams and the players would be “inappropriate … in relation to the severity in question.”

“The situation in question is that when Angel Reese enters the sand of Indiana’s fever, he is no longer safe. He is not safe, because there are some fans of Indiana fever who are racist, who will treat her as if she were not a human being, who will launch insults and threaten her way, and that is not right. That is not something that happens in sports, she is not right,” the user said.

ESPN Star suggests that Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese incident became a point of conversation for more than racial reasons

“Everyone knew that was going to happen. Everyone knew that this environment is not safe for Angel.”

Reese published the video again on his own account.

Clark talked about the investigation into the alleged comments, saying that there is no “place” for such speech.

“There is no place for that in our game,” Clark told reporters, through Indy Star. “There is no place for that in society. We certainly want each person to reach our sand, whether the player, be a fan, has a great experience.

“I appreciate that the League does that. The fever organization has been at the forefront of that, since, in reality, the first day, what they are doing. Hopefully the investigation, we will leave them to find something and take the right action if so.”

The fever enrupted the sky, 93-58, improving 4-1 against Chicago since Clark and Reese joined the WNBA. The two teams will play with each other three more this year, and each of the next two will take place in Chicago at United Center.
