On Thursday night it was not good for the sky of Chicago, and it was certainly not a pleasant night for Angel Reese.
Heaven faced the WNBA champions in the freedom of New York and fell, 99-74. However, it was a moment that happened early in the game with Reese that was a preview, and something like a microcosm of the night.

Less than three minutes after the game, Reese registered five offensive rebounds in a period of 19 seconds thanks to their own failures.
Reese lost four shots from just below the basket, two of which were blocked. Reese finally threw a pass to Kia’s nurse, but the triple was lost, and it was a rebound that Reese could not get.
The moment quickly went viral on social networks, and many made fun of Reese, one even said that “the accusations were not overcoming.”
The former LSU star averaged a double last last season and established the WNBA record for most rebounds in a single season (an injury shortened her season, and A’Ja Wilson surpassed her). However, it has often been criticized because rebound statistics are inflated due to the lack of trays and grab their own rebound.

Reese ended up losing the eight attempts at night, scoring only two points and grabbing 12 rebounds: eight of them were offensive, and five of them had only entered that sequence.
It was the first time since 2021 that he could not do at least one basket, finishing a streak of 136 games, university and professional.
At the beginning of the season, Reese became the fastest player in the history of the WNBA to register 450 points and rebounds.
Meanwhile, New York established a WNBA record with 19 triples in their victory (Los Aces de Las Vegas once had 22 in a playoff game). Eight of Liberty’s nine players who tried a triple made at least one from the depths. Natasha Cloud and Kennedy Burke each hit four of them.
New York fired 55% in general and made 16 of 17 free throws, a clear comparison with Reese’s night.
