Billy Bob Thornton admits his brief marriage to Angelina Jolie was “a fun time together.”
The ‘Landman’ actor admits in a recent interview with Rolling Stone that he remains close friends with Jolie.
Thornton is currently married to his sixth wife, Connie Angland, for over 20 years. He was married to Jolie from 2000 to 2003.
“So,” she told the outlet, “I found the right place to be. The other times I got married were like, one night you drank too much and someone was like, ‘We should get married.’ You’re like, ‘Yeah, okay.’ I always tell people that, at least I was trying.”
“That was one of the best moments of my life,” Thornton said while talking about Jolie. “She and I are still very, very close friends. And that’s what ended up being a really civil breakup. We just broke up because our lifestyles were so different.”
“When we met, I was the most famous,” he said. “And then when we got together, for some reason, people and the media are very interested in celebrity couples, that seems to be a very popular thing. So it was strange. We couldn’t go anywhere. I mean, we did, and then of course we had moments where we said things that turned into sound bites or whatever.”
