Islamabad: A second flight that transports illegal Pakistani immigrants is scheduled to get to Pakistan next week, sources from the Federal Research Agency (FIA) revealed, which makes evident the impact of strict immigration policies of United President Donald Trump.
The Pakistani embassy in the United States has confirmed that eight more undocumented people, including Rehman, Salem, Nawaz, Salman, Azeem, Khan and Khalid Masih, will return to the homeland aboard a special American plane.
In particular, only two of those deported have a criminal record, while the remaining six are being deported only by illegal residence violations.
“Two people on the deportation list were declared guilty of serious crimes, including crimes related to violation and drugs,” the sources added.
The deportees will be transferred to the Nur Khan Air Base, Islamabad, with FIA officials and security personnel ensuring a reception without problems and a verification process upon arrival.
In addition, the authorities confirmed the recent deportation of Syed Rizvi, 56, a Pakistani citizen who had illegally resided in Dallas, Texas. He had entered the United States in 2017, but it was discovered that he violated immigration laws.
The Federal Research Office (FBI) arrested him on January 31, and was officially deported to Pakistan on February 25. After its deportation, the FBI shared its photography and details with the Pakistani authorities for the maintenance of records.
A FIA official said: “We are closely monitoring all deportees to distinguish between those involved in criminal activities and those deported only due to residence violations.”
Upon arrival, those deported will be examined for any legal case pending in Pakistan, questioned regarding their stay and deportation reasons and will help in their reintegration process if they are innocent of criminal activities.
