In a disturbing escalation of attacks on educational institutions, unidentified gunmen destroyed a government girls’ primary school in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, using explosives.
According to the police, the incident occurred in the town of Epi, where the attackers planted explosives inside the school building under the cover of darkness. The explosion completely destroyed the structure. Authorities confirmed that the school was closed at the time, which prevented any casualties, but extensive property damage was sustained.
The explosion has sparked fear among local residents, while police have launched an investigation and are gathering evidence to identify those responsible. This attack comes just three days after another public primary school in Mirali was attacked in a similar manner, putting the education of more than 600 students at risk.
