Karachi:
The police investigating the high profile case of a domestic worker accused of stealing more than 50 million rupees from his employer recovered another luxury vehicle on Wednesday, which contributed the total value of assets tracked so far to more than RS10 million.
According to Saeed Theem of the Special Research Unit (SIU) Clifton, the last recovery, a car worth approximately RS2.5 to 3 million, was carried out on the basis of the information provided by the son of the suspect, which is in police custody.
The defendant, Shehnaz, had been used for 14 years in a residence in Khayaban-E-Tanzeem, Defense Housing Authority, where he allegedly stole cash, jewelry and other objects of value in small increases without raising suspicions.
She was arrested earlier this week after a complaint filed by her employer, Anusha Jaleel.
During a search for their residence, the Police recovered RS600,000 in cash, while two of their bank accounts had deposits for a total of RS3.5 million. The researchers also identified an apartment in the Gizri area registered in the name of Shehnaz, along with three cars and a motorcycle, all supposedly bought with stolen funds.

The lifestyle financed through these illicit profits included high -end purchases, luxury vehicles and brand clothing, according to the police. The authorities declared that steps have been initiated to confiscate the acquired assets.
Meanwhile, Shehnaz was presented to a judicial magistrate on Wednesday along with his son, Asif, and another suspect, Hammad. The court sent the three in police custody for additional interrogation.
The investigators told the Court that the defendant operated as part of an organized group, and that Shehnaz had given a car to his friend Nasema and a motorcycle to his husband, Mohsin, who are currently being fled.
From Shehnaz, the police have recovered a vehicle and more than RS3.4 million in cash. Another vehicle and RS200,000 were recovered from Asif, while Hammad was found in possession of a motorcycle. The authorities believe that additional vehicles and assets have not yet recovered.
The case, registered at the Clifton Police Station, remains under investigation. The court has ordered the Police to present a progress report before June 28.
