- The price of iPhone 17 has been predicted again
- Most models are likely to see a price increase
- The iPhone 17 can cost the same as the iPhone 16
With the launch of the iPhone 17 just a few days away, the leaks and rumors continue around Apple’s 2025 flagship phones, and a new analyst report focuses on the weakened theme of how much these phones will really cost.
According to Trendforce (through Macrumors), it is compared to several price increases compared to last year’s models, although the iPhone 17 will apparently begin at the same price as the iPhone 16, which is $ 799 for the model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Trendforce only refers to the US market, but the prices of the United Kingdom and Australia began in £ 799 and au $ 1,399 respectively. If the prices of the United States remain the same, then it is plausible (but in no safe way) that will also be fixed internationally.
The same report says that the new iPhone 17 Air, which begins with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, will cost $ 1,099 onwards. That is significantly more than the iPhone 16 and is replaced, which had an initial price of $ 899 / £ 899 / AU $ 1,599, although that was for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
More for your money
In the most expensive models: the iPhone 17 PRO is expected to begin at $ 1,199, compared to $ 999 / £ 999 / AU $ 1,849 last year with the iPhone 16 Pro. However, it is expected that the 2025 model will offer 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for entrants, instead of 8 GB / 128 GB.
It is a similar story with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro Max began at $ 1,199 / £ 1,199 / AU $ 2,149 for 256 GB of storage, but the 2025 model is expected to rise to $ 1,299, although with 12 GB of RAM inside instead of 8GB (and the same storage of 256 GB).
Even considering RAM and storage considerations, the conclusion is that the price of income for most iPhone 17 models is higher than for their predecessors, perhaps a consequence of US tariffs.
The previous rumors had indicated prices by increasing or staying stable, so there is still a lot of uncertainty here. We will know the figures safely when Apple present these phones on Tuesday, September 9, starting at 10 am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST (September 3 am for AEST).
