Anthony Richardson goes to his third season with a true battle of Mariscal de Campo, but his search to win the initial work for the 2025 season will be more difficult after suffering an injury.
Richardson is dealing with a shoulder injury on his launch arm, and will not participate in the Colts mini -family next week, according to Chief coach Shane Steichen.
Steichen added that Richardson suffered the injury last week during the organized activities of the team.

“The doctors, the coaches reviewed it,” Steichen said, according to NFL.com. “He has some aggravation in his CA articulation. Then, we are going to sit this week. Obviously, he will sit for a mini -family. We will see when I return. I will not put a schedule for the training camp on it, but when I return, we will relieve it so that it will launch, and then we will go from there. The good will not need a procedure at this time at this time.”
While Steichen said the injury was not serious enough for surgery, a procedure was not ruled out in the line.

Richardson has dealt with numerous injuries in his first two seasons of the NFL, which included a shoulder injury that ended the season after four games in his rookie year. An oblique injury in 2024 kept him out of two games.
Richardson, the fourth general team of the team in 2023 outside Florida, fought on his return to the Colts last year, launching only 1,814 yards in 11 games with a completion rate of 47.7%.

Steichen moved to Bench Richardson last season while fighting, with the support Joe Flacco replacing him under the center.
This year, the Colts brought Daniel Jones, whom New York giants reduced ties in the middle of the 2024 campaign due to their own struggles, to compete with Richardson in the training field.
While Jones did not work under his extension of four years in New York, he has years to start at the NFL under his credit. His incorporation into the field marshal room led many to believe that Richardson’s work was not safe.
Richardson now has to fight another injury before fighting Jones.

“It’s frustrating, but it’s in a good mood,” Steichen said about Richardson. “So we are working it right now.”
With Richardson set aside, Jones will obtain most of the mini -School representatives.
